Registration is now open for the 2026 Maldives Finance Forum, which will focus on how the Maldives can attract long-term sustainable investment, the Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO) has announced.
The forum’s 13th edition will be held on 14 November 2026 at DusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives, a resort in North Malé Atoll. The Pension Office organizes the event.
This year’s theme is “Green Finance: Unlocking Sustainable Investment and Financial Security in the Maldives.”
According to the Pension Office, the forum will examine one central question: how the Maldives can mobilize long-term sustainable capital to strengthen its financial and economic resilience.
The office said investors, lenders, and regulators increasingly treat climate risk as financial risk. This is starting to shape the terms on which countries and institutions can access long-term capital, it said.
Discussions will cover what the Maldives needs to build a credible green finance market, the Pension Office said.
Speakers will also look at which financial instruments and market conditions suit the country’s stage of development. Another focus will be how to direct sustainable investment towards three areas:
renewable energy
climate-resilient infrastructure
the blue economy
The forum will bring together policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, investors, and development partners, along with local and international experts.
The Pension Office describes itself as the country’s largest institutional investor and a key social security provider. It said it has a direct stake in the green finance agenda.
The retirement security of its members depends on a resilient domestic economy, the office said. It also depends on investment opportunities that can deliver sound returns over the long term.
Participants can register through the forum’s official website, www.financeforum.mv.
