VIA to move check-in for 10 international airlines to Terminal 2 from 25 October
Velana International Airport (VIA) will begin using Terminal 2 for international check-in operations from 25 October 2026, with passengers of 10 airlines directed to check in at the terminal during the winter season.
The change will bring both of VIA’s passenger terminals into use for international travellers during the peak tourism period, increasing available check-in space and capacity.
The airlines moving their check-in operations to Terminal 2 are Neos, Aeroflot, US-Bangla Airlines, Centrum Air, Azur Air, S7 Airlines (Siberia), Shirak Avia, Kuwait Airways, Gulliv Air and French Bee. The arrangement will remain in place throughout the season.
Terminal 2, which previously served as VIA’s international terminal, reopened in February 2026 following refurbishment and currently handles all domestic flights. The terminal has 27 check-in counters, new baggage belts, food and beverage outlets, dedicated prayer rooms and a children’s play area.
Passengers travelling with the 10 airlines from 25 October are advised to proceed directly to Terminal 2 for check-in and allow sufficient time to complete departure formalities.
