Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has presented its annual Merit Award to four top-performing students from the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), reinforcing its ongoing commitment to supporting academic excellence and youth development through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The awards were presented on 2 April 2026 during a special assembly held at CHSE, officiated by MACL General Manager Ali Huzaim. The Merit Award recognises the highest achievers completing Grade 11, with recipients selected by the school. In line with the programme’s structure, two female and two male students are awarded each year.

This year’s recipients are Azwad Zahid Hameed, Eezaan Ali, Hamdha Ahmed Shiham, and Aishath Naureen Hamdhee.
Each student will receive a laptop and a Wi-Fi device, along with a one-year data package and a monthly allowance for one year. The initiative is designed to provide both recognition and practical support to students as they continue their academic journey.
MACL introduced the Merit Award as part of its broader CSR framework aimed at nurturing capable young leaders and promoting educational achievement. The company has also expanded its support to CHSE in recent years, including the introduction of cash prizes for Best All-Round students since 2023.
Through such initiatives, MACL continues to position itself as an active contributor to the development of human capital in the Maldives, extending assistance to schools nationwide through educational resources and targeted support programmes.
