Qatar Airways has begun operating three daily flights between Doha and Malé, as its expanded 2026/27 winter schedule takes effect on Sunday.
The airline has increased its Maldives frequency from 12 to 21 weekly flights, representing a 75% increase in services. Qatar Airways initially announced the expansion in September, with the additional flights scheduled to begin from 25 October.
Velana International Airport’s live flight schedule for Sunday confirms three Qatar Airways arrivals from Doha, including flights QR676, QR670 and QR674, reflecting the new three-daily operation.
The additional capacity comes at the start of the Maldives’ peak winter tourism season, when international airlines typically increase services to the country.
The increase also coincides with additional terminal arrangements at Velana International Airport to accommodate higher international traffic during the winter season.
