Claude maker Anthropic files for US stock market listing

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has publicly filed for a proposed initial public offering in the United States, moving the Claude developer closer to becoming a publicly traded company.

Anthropic plans to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “ANT”.

The number of shares to be offered and the expected price range have not yet been determined.

The filing follows Anthropic’s confidential submission of a draft registration statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission in June, which began the regulatory review process for a potential listing.

Founded in 2021 and led by Chief Executive Dario Amodei, Anthropic has emerged as one of the largest companies in the global artificial intelligence industry, with Claude serving as its flagship AI product.

The company raised USD 65 billion in a Series H funding round in May, valuing Anthropic at USD 965 billion on a post-money basis. Anthropic said at the time that its annualised revenue run rate had surpassed USD 47 billion.

More recent analyst and investor estimates have placed Anthropic’s valuation at more than USD 1.5 trillion, according to The Guardian, potentially putting the listing among the largest stock market debuts in US history.

The proposed offering remains subject to regulatory review and market conditions.
