Atmosphere Foundation opens applications for fully funded dive training programme

Atmosphere Foundation has opened applications for a fully funded dive training programme aimed at developing professional divers in the Maldives.

The initiative, launched in collaboration with Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Centre, will sponsor 10 Maldivians each year to pursue professional dive training, as part of efforts to strengthen local participation in the tourism industry.

The programme is designed to support young Maldivians in building careers in diving, providing them with the opportunity to gain internationally recognised certifications and develop skills needed to enter and progress in the field.

Selected candidates will receive full sponsorship, including professional training, certification fees, accommodation, meals and insurance.

Applicants must be aged 18 and above. Successful candidates will also be required to work in the Maldives for a specified period after completing the programme, ensuring that the country benefits directly from the skills developed.

Vice President of Atmosphere Foundation, Abdul Azeez Abdul Hakeem, said the initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Maldivians.

“This programme is about opening a pathway for young Maldivians who are passionate about the ocean and want to build a profession in diving,” he said. “By investing in training and development, we are helping create more opportunities for Maldivians to take up skilled roles in an industry that is central to the country’s economy.”

He added that the programme is intended to support participants not only in gaining qualifications, but also in building long-term careers in the Maldives.

Atmosphere Foundation has been engaged in community development initiatives focusing on education, skills development, youth empowerment and social wellbeing. The dive training programme forms part of its broader efforts to expand access to opportunities and support long-term national development.

Applications for the first batch are now open, with the deadline set for 15 April 2026. Interested applicants can seek further information via email at info@moodhubulhaa.com or by calling +960 7788141.
