Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has released its June 2026 Sea-to-Air Cargo Transshipment Statistics, highlighting continued growth in the country's multimodal logistics sector.
During the month, MPL handled more than 335 tonnes of sea-to-air transshipment cargo, equivalent to 65 TEUs, demonstrating the increasing demand for the Maldives' sea-to-air cargo services. The service enables cargo arriving by sea to be efficiently transferred to international air freight, reducing transit times to global markets.
Cargo shipments were transported through leading international airline partners, including Qatar Airways Cargo, Turkish Airlines, Emirates SkyCargo, and Saudia Cargo. The consignments were destined for major international markets such as Italy, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, and France.
The monthly performance reflects MPL's ongoing efforts to strengthen the Maldives as a regional logistics hub by providing reliable and efficient sea-to-air transshipment solutions, while expanding connectivity with key global destinations.
