Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has held a dedicated information session for its hearing-impaired staff, aimed at preparing them for operations at the upcoming New Passenger Terminal.
A total of 16 employees took part in the session, which included a detailed tour of the new terminal and a question-and-answer segment. The session was led by CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, who personally welcomed the participants.
To support clear communication, professional interpretation services were provided by Saeed Athuharu, Director of Finance and Interpreter from the Deaf Association of Maldives.
Housekeeping staff member Suzna Mohammed Saeed said she was excited about the move to the new facility. “I am very happy and grateful to move from the small terminal to the large terminal. The New Terminal is very beautiful, and I hope people from various countries will visit this terminal,” she said.
Ahmed Ashfaq from the technical support team said the visit made many things easier to understand. “If there are people to assist those with disabilities, even greater completeness can be achieved,” he added.
MACL said the session is part of its ongoing efforts to build an inclusive workplace. The company runs programs and internships specifically designed to support individuals with disabilities, aiming to ensure equal access to training and professional development.
