As Ramadan continues, many people are becoming more mindful of what they consume during Suhoor and Iftar, seeking beverages that provide hydration, nourishment and sustained energy throughout the fasting day. Among the options drawing attention is Cafe’ier’s selection of healthy drinks that combine natural ingredients, local sourcing and distinctive flavor profiles.
Cafe’ier offers a range of healthy beverages that combine natural ingredients with creative flavor combinations, bringing a refreshing alternative to everyday café drinks. The menu features blends made from ingredients such as moringa, hibiscus and beetroot, each widely associated with nutritional benefits including antioxidants, vitamins and natural hydration. From smoothies enriched with fruits and herbs to chilled cold brews with floral notes, the beverages provide lighter choices that complement traditional Ramadan meals. The drinks are available at reasonable prices, making them accessible to customers looking for healthier refreshment options during the month.
Ahmed Zaeem, Cafe’ier’s Beverage Specialist and Barista and the creative mind behind the healthy beverage lineup, said the drinks were developed with a strong emphasis on quality, freshness and local production. He highlighted that the café’s moringa-based beverages begin with fresh moringa leaves sourced from nearby islands, reinforcing the café’s commitment to local ingredients.

According to Zaeem, the leaves are carefully sorted by hand, with only the best selected before undergoing a dehydration process that allows the team to produce its own moringa powder entirely in house. The process ensures consistency while maintaining the natural properties of the plant.
“Everything is done by our team here, from selecting the leaves to creating the final drink. It is a fully in-house process with no artificial flavor or color added,” Zaeem said, noting that the moringa used across the beverage lineup is 100 percent locally sourced.
He added that several drinks, particularly the moringa smoothies and beetroot smoothies, are designed to cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Prepared using fresh ingredients and natural components, the beverages offer suitable options for individuals who are lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant or those seeking a filling smoothie without added sugar.
Zaeem explained that the broader aim is to encourage people to adopt healthier habits while still exploring new taste experiences. “We encourage people to be more healthier but also try different taste of drinks,” he said, emphasizing that nutritious beverages should remain enjoyable and accessible.

Across the Maldives, Ramadan evenings continue to bring families and friends together around food and drinks that balance tradition with evolving lifestyle preferences. In this context, healthier beverage choices are increasingly becoming part of the Iftar experience, offering alternatives to heavily sweetened drinks while still delivering flavor and satisfaction.
For customers, the appeal lies in freshness, variety and transparency in preparation. Smoothies made from locally sourced ingredients, vegetable-based blends and naturally flavored cold brews provide refreshing choices that support hydration after a day of fasting without overwhelming sweetness.
