National carrier Maldivian has announced two special low-fare flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka, offering tickets at a reduced price of USD 99 as part of efforts to make regional travel more accessible for passengers.
The discounted
flights are scheduled to operate on Sunday, December 7, and Tuesday, December
9, providing travellers an affordable option to fly between Malé and Colombo
during the early December period. Passengers travelling on these promotional
flights will be entitled to a generous baggage allowance of up to 35 kilograms.
The services
will be operated using Maldivian’s Airbus A320 aircraft, which has a seating
capacity of 152 passengers, ensuring both comfort and efficiency for the
short-haul international route.
The announcement
comes as Maldivian continues to strengthen its international operations
following the resumption of Malé-Colombo flights on April 25 after a temporary
hiatus. Since reinstating the route, the airline has been working to expand
connectivity and provide competitive fares to popular regional destinations.
Maldivian
currently operates a diverse fleet of 26 aircraft, comprising one Airbus A330,
one A320, eight Dash aircraft, five ATRs and 11 seaplanes, supporting both
domestic and international travel across its growing network.
