Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially launched Swipe, a new digital wallet developed in the Maldives, as the official wallet of Visit Maldives during the ITB Berlin tourism fair.
Swipe is a modern digital payment solution designed to offer seamless, instant and secure transactions both within the Maldives and internationally. Developed entirely in the Maldives, the wallet enables users to send money instantly and receive funds from anywhere in the world, bringing greater convenience to digital financial services.
The platform also offers significant advantages for businesses. Through Swipe, merchants can benefit from real-time payment settlements without delays, helping to improve cash flow management and operational efficiency.
BML announced that Swipe will serve as the official digital wallet of Visit Maldives last Tuesday, marking an important milestone in promoting innovative payment solutions in the country’s tourism sector.
Through this strategic partnership, Swipe will be positioned as a premier payment solution for tourists visiting the Maldives, offering travellers a convenient and secure way to make payments during their stay.
The initiative further highlights the Maldives’ commitment to digital innovation and premium hospitality, enhancing the overall experience for visitors while strengthening the country’s growing digital economy.
