The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened the Money Matters Art Competition under FinLit Fest 2026, inviting students across the Maldives to explore money and finance through art.
The competition is open to students in Grades 5 to 9, with separate categories for Grades 5–7 and Grades 8–9. Participants can submit entries under either the Digital Art or Non-Digital Art category.
Students can develop their artwork around themes related to financial wellbeing and the future, including smart money choices, saving and financial goals, inclusive finance, innovation and the future of money, and responsible and sustainable finance.
Winners will receive cash prizes of up to MVR 3,000 along with certificates. Selected artworks may also be showcased at MMA events and exhibitions and featured in the authority’s publications, digital campaigns and awareness materials.

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm on 1 November 2026. Digital artworks can be submitted via finlit@mma.gov.mv, while physical entries can be delivered or sent to the MMA in Malé.
The MMA has advised participants to refer to the Money Matters Art Competition Participant Guidebook for detailed information on the competition themes, eligibility, submission requirements and evaluation criteria.
