Ooredoo Maldives has been awarded the National Award of Recognition in the category of Business and Economic Development, becoming the only company in the Maldives to receive the distinction this year.
The award was
presented by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during the official National Day
ceremony held in HA. Utheemu. Ooredoo Maldives CEO and Managing Director,
Khalid Al-Hamadi, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
The recognition
comes as Ooredoo marks two decades of operations in the Maldives, during which
it has played a key role in the nation’s technological and economic progress.
Since entering the market in 2005, the company has grown from a mobile operator
into a comprehensive digital service provider, expanding into fintech,
e-commerce, and introducing nationwide 5G coverage.
Today, Ooredoo
Maldives provides a wide range of advanced services, including AI-powered
solutions, the m-Faisaa digital wallet, the Moolee e-commerce platform, and
nationwide broadband connectivity. The company also leads flagship community
initiatives such as the Ooredoo Fun Run, Masrace, and Grow with Ooredoo.
The National
Award of Recognition highlights Ooredoo’s sustained contribution to the
Maldives’ digital transformation and its role in strengthening economic
development across the country.
