A new multimedia studio has been established at Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre in Kudahuvadhoo with support from Bank of Maldives under its Bank Fund 2025 initiative, providing students with access to modern media production tools and training opportunities.
The facility was opened by United Islamic Society, a Kudahuvadhoo based non-governmental organisation and one of the recipients of the Bank Fund 2025. The project has created a fully equipped multimedia studio for the Media Club at Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre, which serves more than 800 students.

The studio includes professional cameras, lighting kits, audio recording equipment, editing computers and live streaming hardware. The facility is expected to support students in producing digital media content, including videos, event broadcasts, reports and educational programmes for the school’s official YouTube channel.
Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre has an active Media Club that previously faced operational limitations due to a lack of equipment. The newly established studio is intended to address this gap by providing a dedicated training and production space for students to develop practical media and communication skills.
According to the project organisers, the studio will also serve the wider community by supporting nearby islands and local institutions that require media production services. The initiative is expected to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing while creating opportunities for students to engage in real world media projects.

Management of the facility will be overseen by a team from the school and United Islamic Society. The partners plan to ensure the long term sustainability of the studio through ongoing training programmes, routine maintenance and potential collaborations with community partners that may generate revenue to support operations.

Bank of Maldives’ Bank Fund is an annual programme that provides financial support to community initiatives across the country. Each year, five projects are selected to receive MVR 200,000 in funding to support initiatives that contribute to social development and community capacity building.
Through programmes such as the Bank Fund, the bank continues to support community driven initiatives aimed at strengthening local institutions and expanding opportunities for young people across the Maldives.
