Zameel Crowned Champion of Ooredoo Nation Cup 2026

Mohamed Zameel Zihuny, representing South Korea, has been crowned champion of the Ooredoo Nation Cup 2026 after emerging victorious in the FC 26 esports tournament organised by Ooredoo Maldives as part of its #OoredooFootballFoari campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The tournament featured 48 of the nation's top FC 26 players, each representing one of the 48 countries competing in the FIFA World Cup 2026, creating a competition that mirrored the excitement and global spirit of football's biggest tournament.

Following an intense series of matches, Zameel secured the championship title through consistent performances throughout the tournament.

Abdulla Maahil, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, finished as runner-up, while Zakwan Shihad, representing Austria, claimed second runner-up after an impressive tournament.

The winners received cash prizes, trophies and Hisense Smart TVs. Zameel received MVR 8,000, a trophy, a Hisense 75-inch UHD 4K VIDAA Smart TV and a FIFA World Cup replica. Maahil was awarded MVR 5,000, a trophy and a Hisense 65-inch UHD 4K VIDAA Smart TV, while Zakwan received MVR 2,000, a trophy and a Hisense 55-inch UHD 4K VIDAA Smart TV.

The Ooredoo Nation Cup formed part of #OoredooFootballFoari, Ooredoo Maldives' nationwide FIFA World Cup campaign designed to bring football fans together through promotions, digital experiences and esports competitions throughout the tournament.

Through initiatives such as the Ooredoo Nation Cup, Ooredoo said it continues to strengthen the local esports ecosystem by creating competitive platforms that encourage gaming talent, foster community engagement and celebrate the passion Maldivians share for football.

Ooredoo Maldives congratulated all participants and winners for making the inaugural Ooredoo Nation Cup a memorable celebration of football, gaming and sportsmanship.
