In a strategic initiative to enhance regional trade, Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to develop and operate a new commercial port in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo.
The official signing ceremony took place on February 23 in
Kudahuvadhoo, attended by MPL CEO Mohamed Rishwan and Minister of Economic
Development Mohamed Saeed.
The planned commercial port is strategically
designed to support direct port-to-port logistics, positioning Kudahuvadhoo as
a distribution hub in the region. MPL also intends to establish bonded
warehouse facilities at the port, further strengthening regional economic
growth and improving trade infrastructure.
