State Electric Company (STELCO) has completed maintenance work at its 50 MW power plant in Hulhumalé ahead of schedule, avoiding major power disruptions in the Greater Malé area.
The work,
initially expected to be completed between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. today, was
finished by 8:43 a.m., according to STELCO Managing Director Hussein Fahmy, who
shared the update on X. He credited the early completion to the capability and
commitment of the company’s engineers and technicians.
“We were able to
complete this work so quickly due to the capability and diligence of STELCO’s
dedicated engineers and technicians,” Fahmy said, praising their work ethic,
passion, and commitment to serving the people and the nation.
Fahmy extended
his appreciation to the team involved in the maintenance and thanked customers
in the Greater Malé region for their cooperation and understanding during the
scheduled work. He further noted that such maintenance is vital to ensure the
delivery of sustainable and reliable electricity services.
