Incomplete business registration applications submitted through the Maldives Business Portal will be cancelled from the system without further notice if they remain unfinished after the deadline, the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport, and Trade said in a notice.
The Ministry said applicants have until 14:00 on Thursday, 16 July 2026, to complete outstanding steps and pay any required fees. Applications still incomplete after that time will be removed from the system, according to the notice.
The Ministry said it identified a large number of submissions on the Business Portal that had not completed certain stages or had unpaid fees. It has opened a 14-day window for applicants to finish these steps and settle payments.
The notice lists five categories of applications affected:
Company name reservations that reached the payment stage but were not completed due to non-payment.
Business or trade name reservations where the registration stage was not completed.
Business or trade name reservations where a registration form was submitted and the process reached the payment stage, but registration remained incomplete because payment was not made.
Sole proprietorship name reservations were followed by an incomplete name change request.
Sole proprietorship name reservations where a name change form was submitted and the process reached the payment stage, but the request remained incomplete because payment was not made.
The Ministry asked applicants with any of these pending submissions to complete them and pay outstanding fees before the deadline. It said no further notice will be given before incomplete applications are cancelled.
