The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has officially launched the first phase of preparations for the Visit Maldives Year 2027 campaign, inviting bids for all branding-related work and signaling the start of a major national tourism initiative.
The procurement process seeks firms capable of executing the full spectrum of branding activities, with applicants expected to demonstrate both technical expertise and creative innovation in line with the Ministry’s Terms of Reference. Officials say the move is designed to ensure that the Maldives positions itself strategically in an increasingly competitive global tourism market.
An information session for prospective bidders is scheduled for 12 February at the Ministry’s Velanaage headquarters, during which detailed project requirements and supporting materials will be shared. Early engagement with creative and technical partners highlights the Ministry’s intent to involve stakeholders from the outset of the campaign’s design phase.
While specific themes and target markets for Visit Maldives Year 2027 have yet to be revealed, the launch of the branding procurement process marks a critical step toward what is expected to be a cornerstone of the country’s tourism marketing strategy. The campaign aims to elevate the Maldives’ international profile and attract travelers worldwide, building momentum toward a major tourism push in 2027.
The initiative comes as the Maldives continues to strengthen its position as a premier destination in the Indian Ocean, with the Ministry emphasizing that careful planning and strategic branding will play a key role in sustaining tourism growth in the years ahead.
