Ministry launches AguMagu app to show prices across the atolls

The Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade has introduced the AguMagu app. The app shows prices of goods sold in the atolls, not just Male', the Ministry said.

The Ministry first launched an AguMagu portal on February 28, 2025. That portal only showed prices in Male' shops. The new app fixes that limit. Prices of goods sold on islands across the atolls will now be visible, according to the Ministry.

The app brings daily commodity prices together in one place. Users can check the latest available price for items they want to buy. For each item, the app shows the lowest price, the average price, and the highest price across different shops. It also shows how prices have changed over the past 10 days.

The Ministry said the app is useful for travel planning. Before visiting an island, users can check which island sells goods at the lowest prices. Users also get instant notifications when a price drops or rises.

The app lets users save lists of items they buy often. They can check updated prices for the full list at any time. The app calculates the lowest possible total cost for the whole list. It also shows where each item is sold cheapest.
