Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced temporary changes to traffic flow at Velana International Airport as part of scheduled maintenance work.
According to a press release issued by MACL, the diversions will be in effect from 23 April to 30 April 2026, daily between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. The adjustments are being implemented to facilitate essential maintenance work on the roof of the pedestrian crossing at Terminal 2.
During this period, several changes to transport arrangements will apply:
Taxi services transporting passengers to both international and domestic terminals will be required to drop off passengers at Terminal 1, Departure Gates 1 and 2. The Terminal 2 taxi stop will remain closed during the specified hours.
MTCC bus services will operate exclusively from the West Parking internal bus stop for both boarding and alighting passengers.
MACL internal bus services will also be adjusted. Route 1, which begins from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) area, will terminate at Terminal 1 Arrival Gate 1. Meanwhile, Route 2, heading towards the Water Supply area, will begin from the roundabout near Terminal 2.
MACL confirmed that airport bus schedules will remain unchanged, and the diversions will only be active during the early morning maintenance window.
The company has urged all passengers, transport operators and airport users to take note of the temporary changes and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
