Maldives Police Service has recovered more than 98% of the estimated losses reported in theft and robbery cases investigated by Malé Police between 5 and 11 July 2026, according to the latest weekly policing statistics.
During the reporting period, the estimated total loss from theft and robbery cases stood at MVR 838,434, while officers successfully recovered MVR 826,730 in cash and stolen property, demonstrating a recovery rate of over 98%.
The largest estimated losses were reported within the Maafannu Police jurisdiction at MVR 407,553, followed by Galolhu Police with MVR 203,968, Henveiru Police with MVR 200,578, and Airport and Tourist Police with MVR 26,335.
Recovery efforts were led by Maafannu Police, which recovered MVR 396,888, while Galolhu Police recovered MVR 225,215, Henveiru Police recovered MVR 175,250, Airport and Tourist Police recovered MVR 26,335, and Villimalé Police recovered MVR 3,042.
Maldives Police stated that the recoveries reflect the dedication and professionalism of officers who work tirelessly to investigate cases, locate stolen property, and return recovered items to their rightful owners.
