Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced Allied Insurance Company as the Bronze Sponsor for the Maldives Maritime Conference 2026, strengthening private sector participation in the country’s upcoming maritime industry gathering.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by MPL Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Mueen and Allied Insurance Company Chief Underwriting Officer Iuliana Rusei.
The Maldives Maritime Conference 2026 is scheduled to take place on April 15 and is expected to bring together stakeholders from across the maritime, logistics and shipping sectors. The event is organised by Maldives Ports Limited as part of efforts to create a platform for industry dialogue and collaboration.
The conference is anticipated to attract participation from industry professionals, policymakers and business leaders involved in maritime services and port operations. Organisers say the event aims to highlight developments in the maritime sector while facilitating discussions on operational challenges and emerging opportunities.
Allied Insurance’s participation as a Bronze Sponsor reflects growing engagement from the financial and insurance sector in maritime-related initiatives. Insurance services play a key role in supporting shipping, logistics and port operations by providing risk coverage for vessels, cargo and related activities.
Maldives Ports Limited, the state-owned operator responsible for managing the country’s primary commercial ports, has been expanding efforts to strengthen industry partnerships and promote knowledge exchange within the maritime sector.
With preparations underway for the April conference, organisers expect the event to serve as a platform for dialogue on the future of maritime operations in the Maldives and the broader role of the sector in supporting trade and economic activity.
