Bank of Maldives has supported the development of a sensory classroom at Aminiya School, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education and community development.
The newly established classroom, named “IWonder”, is designed to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with special educational needs (SEN). More than 170 students are currently enrolled in SEN classes at the school.
The project included the provision of essential equipment and ongoing maintenance support. Improvements were also made to enhance the classroom environment, including the installation of specialised features and resources tailored to meet students’ developmental needs.
Bank of Maldives has a track record of supporting SEN education across the country. The Bank has previously assisted in developing SEN classrooms and supplying equipment to several schools, including Imaduddin School, Hiriya School, Salahuddin School, Veymandoo School and Gaafaru School.
In addition, over the past few years, the Bank has donated essential equipment to SEN classes in 40 schools nationwide.
Supporting students with special needs remains a key priority for Bank of Maldives, with continued investment in resources aimed at strengthening inclusive education across the Maldives.
