Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has laid the foundation for a Fitness and Recreation Center in HDh. Naivaadhoo.
The foundation
laying ceremony was held during a special event as part of President Dr.
Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing tour to the inhabited islands of Haa Dhaalu Atoll,
during his visit to Naivaadhoo today.
The foundation
of the Fitness and Recreation Center in Naivaadhoo was laid by Minister of
Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdullah Rafiu, MACL's CEO and Managing Director
Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, and Naivaadhoo Council President Ali Rasheed Mohamed.
The foundation
laying ceremony was attended by Minister of Finance and Planning Moosa Zameer,
Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar,
Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Health
Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim, and MACL's Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Lamaan,
along with some members of the People's Majlis, senior government and company
officials, and members of the public.
The Fitness and
Recreation Center in Naivaadhoo is part of an agreement signed between the
Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation and MACL on 18 August 2025 to build
Fitness and Recreation Centers in 63 islands across the Maldives.
Establishing
Fitness and Recreation Centers on all inhabited islands of the Maldives by the
end of 2026 is a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
