Male Water and Sewerage Company has announced a new relief measure allowing households and businesses to clear overdue water bills without late payment penalties, as part of efforts to ease financial pressures and improve bill settlement compliance.
The utility provider confirmed that all fines accumulated on domestic and commercial tariff accounts up to December 31, 2025, will be eligible for a full waiver. The concession applies to customers who settle their outstanding dues in full between April 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.
MWSC stated that the initiative is aimed at supporting customers facing payment difficulties while encouraging the clearance of long-standing arrears. The waiver covers both residential and commercial accounts, reflecting the company’s broader approach to assist across customer segments.
In addition to full settlement, the company is offering structured repayment options for those unable to pay outstanding balances upfront. Customers can enter into monthly installment agreements, with late payment fines waived upon successful completion of the agreed payment plan.
The move provides an extended window of nine months for customers to regularise their accounts, while also introducing flexibility through installment-based repayment arrangements.
MWSC has advised customers seeking assistance or clarification to contact its Customer Care Center via hotline 105, SMS 1050, or email.
The company also urged customers to use this opportunity to clear outstanding balances and maintain timely payments going forward, as part of ensuring sustainable service delivery.
