Maldives’ first corporate relay race, BML WeRUN – Corporates, successfully concluded today at CROSSROADS Maldives, bringing together employees from companies, institutions and organizations in a celebration of fitness, teamwork and corporate spirit.
Organized by WeRUN Maldives with the support of Bank of Maldives (BML), the event was introduced to encourage healthy lifestyle habits while strengthening teamwork and camaraderie among employees across the corporate and institutional sectors.
The relay featured teams of five runners, with each participant completing a one-kilometre leg of the race.
BML WeRUN – Corporates also marked two milestones in Maldivian sporting history. It was the first corporate relay race to be held in the country and the first event in the Maldives to use timing chips embedded inside relay batons to accurately track race times.
A total of 18 teams competed in the inaugural event, including 11 men’s teams and seven women’s teams.

Bank of Maldives continues to support sports development and community wellbeing across the country through national initiatives, strategic partnerships and programmes that encourage youth participation, workplace wellness and inclusive access to sporting opportunities.
