Male’ Water and Sewerage Company has introduced a new customer incentive campaign that will award a monthly Umrah trip and MVR 3,000 in cash to domestic customers who pay their water bills through its digital platforms, as part of efforts to accelerate the shift toward online transactions.
The state utility announced that the promotion, titled “Hadhiya Badiya,” will select three eligible domestic customers each month through a lucky draw. To qualify, customers must settle their water bills via the MWSC App or E-Portal during the promotion period and ensure there are no outstanding or overdue balances at the time the draw concludes. The individual making the digital payment will be recognized as the participant.
MWSC stated that the initiative is designed to reward customers while encouraging wider adoption of its digital services. The company said the campaign forms part of its broader strategy to modernize operations and reduce reliance on over the counter payments, allowing customers to save time and access services more conveniently.
Under the terms of the promotion, the Umrah trip must be utilized within a period specified by MWSC starting from the date of announcement. If a winner is unable to travel, the prize may be transferred to another individual.
The company said the lucky draw will be conducted through a digital system to ensure fairness and transparency. Winners will be contacted directly following the draw, and their names will be published on MWSC’s official social media platforms, website, and other communication channels. The date of the lucky draw will be announced at a later time.
MWSC encouraged customers to use its mobile application and online portal to benefit from the convenience of digital bill payments and to stand a chance of winning the monthly prizes.
