More than 39 members of MWSC’s senior leadership team have successfully completed a comprehensive two-and-a-half-day leadership workshop organized by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) at K. Girifushi.
The workshop brought together heads of divisions, deputies and heads of departments from across the company, reinforcing MWSC’s commitment to developing a cohesive and unified leadership culture capable of navigating complex operational and organizational challenges.
Throughout the programme, participants took part in rigorous leadership and command exercises designed to strengthen decision-making, crisis management and strategic thinking—key competencies required for senior-level roles.
In line with MWSC’s continued focus on workplace safety and emergency preparedness, participants also completed practical first aid and firefighting training, equipping them with essential skills to respond effectively during emergencies.
The programme further challenged participants physically through demanding obstacle courses commonly used as part of MNDF training, providing senior leaders with an opportunity to test their endurance, resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
A key highlight of the workshop was a shipboard emergency drill simulating an abandon-ship scenario. Participants were required to enter the sea and carry out procedures reflecting real-life emergency and rescue situations, offering hands-on experience in responding to emergencies at sea.
Beyond the practical and physical exercises, the workshop provided an important platform for senior leaders from different divisions and departments to work closely together, strengthening communication, teamwork and inter-divisional relationships.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with members of senior management describing the workshop as a transformative experience that strengthened bonds across the organization and reinforced a shared sense of purpose and direction.
The initiative reflects MWSC’s continued investment in developing well-rounded, resilient and unified leaders who are equipped to steer the organization forward both operationally and strategically.
