Austrian Airlines Marks 30 Years of Service to Maldives with Celebratory Ceremony

Austrian Airlines celebrated 30 years of operations to the Maldives with a vibrant ceremony held at Velana International Airport (VIA), marking a significant milestone in the airline’s long-standing presence in the country.

To commemorate the anniversary, special gifts were presented to 324 passengers departing on the airline’s flight yesterday. Meanwhile, 328 arriving passengers at Terminal 1 received a warm Maldivian welcome, highlighted by traditional Bodu Beru performances.

The celebration, organized by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), underscored the enduring partnership between the national airport operator and the Austrian flag carrier.

Over the past three decades, Austrian Airlines has maintained consistent operations to the Maldives, contributing significantly to the growth of the country’s tourism sector. The airline has also played a role in strengthening bilateral ties between the Maldives and Austria, supporting connectivity between Europe and the island nation.
