The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of Dr Mohamed Ibrahim as the new Managing Director and Board Member of the Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (MFORMPC).
Dr Ibrahim, from
Javaahiru Vaadhee, ADh. Maamigili, assumed the role following the resignation
of former Managing Director Ahmed Zareer. Zareer, who was appointed to head the
corporation in May 2024, stepped down last month after being named Secretary General
of the Football Association of Maldives.
Dr Ibrahim
brings experience from multiple state institutions, having previously served as
Secretary General of the Broadcasting Commission of Maldives and in a senior
position at the Drug Court.
MFORMPC,
established in February 2024, is tasked with promoting and marketing Maldivian
fisheries and ocean resources. The corporation was created as part of
government efforts to expand international market access for fisheries products
and strengthen the country’s ocean-based economy.
