Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has appointed Ibrahim Ziyath as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s board.
MPL announced the appointment in a post on social media, welcoming Ziyath to the company’s leadership team.
With the appointment, MPL now has three Deputy CEOs. The other two are Mohamed Mueen and Ali Hashim. The company’s Chief Executive Officer is DCP (Retd.) Mohamed Rishwan.
Ziyath is an experienced corporate leader with more than 17 years of professional experience in strategic management, corporate governance and operational development within state-owned enterprises in the Maldives.
He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). Ziyath has also held senior leadership roles at the State Trading Organization (STO), where he worked as Executive Director and Senior General Manager. In addition, he served as Acting Managing Director of Fuel Supplies Maldives, a subsidiary of STO.
Ziyath holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ballarat in Australia and a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Management and Marketing from Edith Cowan University.
