The Maldives Professional Speakers Association (MPSA) will hold its third annual Professional Speakers Summit in Malé on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12. The event will run from 08:30 to 16:00 each day.
The summit will take place at the Maldives National University (MNU) Business School Auditorium in Malé City. According to the organizers, it will bring together local and international speakers to discuss the future of professional speaking in the country.
MPSA said the two-day program centers on the theme "Collaborate and Elevate." The sessions will cover creativity and innovation, artificial intelligence and the future of speaking, speechcraft and keynote design, building a speaking business, marketing, and leadership.
The lineup includes speakers from several countries alongside Maldivian professionals. Announced international speakers include Fredrik Haren, Tim Gard, James Taylor, Christian Chua, and Andrew Chow. Regional speaking association figures are also listed, including Eugene Seah, President of Asia Professional Speakers Singapore, and Vinay Pushpakaran, a past president of the Professional Speakers Association of India.
Maldivian speakers on the program include Maadhih Mohamed, Mariyam Mohamed, Reema Rasheed, Mohamed Shihab, and Afeef Hussain, a co-founder of MPSA.
The organizers said the event is open to MPSA members, professionals, students, and members of the public interested in professional speaking. They described it as an opportunity to learn from experienced speakers and to network. Those characterizations came from MPSA.
Registration is being handled through an online form linked from the association's website. The published fees are USD 150 for MPSA members and USD 170 for non-members. An early-bird rate of USD 150 was listed with a deadline of June 10, which has passed.
MPSA was inaugurated in November 2024 and describes itself as the country's first professional speakers' association. It held the first Maldives Professional Speakers Summit that same month. This year's event is the third edition.
Among the listed partners for the summit are First National Finance Corporation, Amana Takaful, Dhiraagu, the Maldives Islamic Bank, and the Professional Speakers Association of India as a knowledge partner.
