STO Construction Solutions Holds Special Activities to Mark National Engineers’ Day

STO Construction Solutions has organized a series of special activities to mark National Engineers’ Day 2026, focusing this year on students pursuing higher education in engineering.

National Engineers’ Day is celebrated annually on August 30. As part of this year’s activities, STO Construction Solutions held a special event for engineering students at the STO Training Institute, with the participation of students from the Faculty of Engineering at the Maldives National University (MNU).

The event was graced by MNU Chancellor Dr. Mahmood Shougee. STO Managing Director Shimad Ibrahim, along with senior officials from STO and MNU, also attended the session.

During the event, STO Construction Solutions provided students with an overview of its operations and the role it plays in the Maldivian construction sector, giving participants greater insight into the technical and engineering-related work carried out by the company.

Following the session, students took part in a series of site visits designed to provide practical exposure to different areas of engineering and construction.

Participants visited STO Construction Solutions’ ready-mix concrete production plant, where they were introduced to the production process and operations carried out at the concrete laboratory. The students also visited the Makita showroom and the facility featuring Nippon Paint’s colour-mixing technology.

As part of the programme, participants were also taken to an active elevator installation site, allowing them to observe practical operations involved in one of the key technical areas of engineering.

Through the initiative, STO Construction Solutions aimed to provide engineering students with practical industry exposure while giving them an opportunity to better understand how engineering knowledge and technical expertise are applied across STO’s construction-related operations.
