Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has laid the foundation for a Fitness and Recreation Center in HDh. Kurinbi.

The foundation laying ceremony was held during a special event as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's current tour to the inhabited islands of Haa Dhaalu Atoll, during his visit to Kurinbi today.

The foundation of the Fitness and Recreation Center in Kurinbi was laid by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdullah Rafiu, MACL's CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, and Kurinbi Council President Abdullah Aslam.

The Fitness and Recreation Center in Kurinbi is part of an agreement signed on August 18, 2025, between the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation and MACL to build Fitness and Recreation Centers in 63 islands across the Maldives.

Establishing Fitness and Recreation Centers on all inhabited islands of the Maldives by the end of 2026 is a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
