MPL Managing Director Mohamed Rishwan Resigns

The Managing Director of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), DCP (Retired) Mohamed Rishwan, has resigned from his position.

According to the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), Rishwan submitted his resignation as Managing Director and member of the Board of MPL on April 6, 2026. The Board confirmed that his resignation has been accepted and he has been relieved of his duties.

In a statement, MPL expressed appreciation for Rishwan’s service and leadership during his tenure.

“On behalf of the management and staff of Maldives Ports Limited, we extend our sincere appreciation to CEO DCP (Retd.) Mohamed Rishwan for his valuable contributions to the company,” the statement read.

The company further highlighted his dedication and leadership throughout his time in office.

“We deeply value and appreciate his dedication, leadership, and commitment throughout his tenure from 5th February 2025 to 6th April 2026. We thank him for his service and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.”

Rishwan brought extensive experience to the role, having previously served as Deputy CEO of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and as Deputy Commissioner of Police. During his time in law enforcement, he played a significant role in national security operations, counterterrorism strategies, and public safety initiatives.

His tenure at MPL was marked by a focus on strengthening operational management and strategic direction within the company.
