The Bank of Maldives (BML) has conducted special Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) sessions for girls at GA. Atoll Education Centre and GDh. Atoll Education Centre, aimed at inspiring young students to pursue careers in the technology sector.
A team of female staff from BML’s Technology Division led the initiative, which began with an introduction to ICT and its growing importance in modern industries. The sessions also featured a dedicated career talk and mentorship program tailored for girls in grades six and seven, providing them with insights into professional opportunities in the field.
As part of its commitment to promoting digital literacy, BML donated a computer system to each school. The program, now in its third consecutive year, was held in celebration of International Girls in ICT Day.
Previous editions of the initiative have been carried out in A.Dh. Mahibadhoo, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City, with BML continuing to expand the program to reach more students across the country.
