Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has signed an agreement with SASE Construction to develop a modern yacht marina in HA. Uligan, one of the northernmost islands of the Maldives.
According to MPL, the project will be carried out in phases, with the first phase focusing on developing a marina capable of accommodating up to 18 yachts at a time.
The marina will provide essential services for yachts, including facilities to support visiting vessels as well as Immigration and Customs services to facilitate international arrivals.
MPL said it is also in the process of identifying a partner to operate and further develop the yacht marina once the initial phase of construction is completed.
Uligan, located at the northern tip of the Maldives, is a popular stop for yachts and cruise liners travelling through the region. Authorities believe the development of a dedicated marina will help strengthen maritime services in the area and improve facilities for international vessels visiting the Maldives.
