Bank of Maldives
(BML) has expanded its ATM services in Kulhudhuffushi City with the
installation of the city's first US Dollar ATM, enhancing financial
accessibility for residents and businesses. The new ATM, located at the BML
branch premises, was officially inaugurated by Minister of Tourism and
Environment Thoriq Ibrahim and BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef.
The USD ATM
provides 24-hour access to foreign currency transactions, allowing customers to
deposit and withdraw US dollars, along with other self-service banking
functions outside regular banking hours. This development marks a significant
milestone for Kulhudhuffushi, which previously had access only to Maldivian
Rufiyaa ATMs. The newly installed machine complements the four existing MVR
ATMs operating at two different locations in the city.
Speaking at the
inauguration, BML CEO Mohamed Shareef emphasized the bank’s commitment to
improving financial services across the country. BML is the bank for all
Maldivians. We are a partner in your progress. Every service we introduce and
every change we make is for one purpose – to serve you better,” he stated.
With the
addition of the Kulhudhuffushi USD ATM, BML continues to expand its foreign
currency banking network, which already serves customers in Addu, Malé,
Hulhumalé, Velana International Airport, and Maafushi. The expansion aligns
with the bank’s strategic efforts to strengthen its position as the leading
financial institution in the Maldives.
BML currently
operates an extensive banking network with 39 branches across all 20 atolls,
100 Self-Service Banking Centres, 158 ATMs, Agent Banking Services, and
advanced Digital Banking solutions, ensuring financial inclusion for
communities nationwide.
