Recurrent expenditure hit MVR9.2b, slight drop from 2019

The cumulative total of recurrent expenditure reaches MVR9,235.2 million (MVR9.2 billion) – slight drop from corresponding period of 2019.

As such, Ministry of Finance in their Weekly Fiscal Development reveals the drop.

According to the ministry the cumulative total of recurrent expenditure had hit MVR9,984.5 million (MVR9.9 billion) in same period of 2019.

On the other hand, the cumulative total capital expenditure hit MVR3,895.7 million (MVR3.9 billion).

Moreover the capital expenditure cumulative observed an increase from that of 2019.

The ministry’s publication the figure was at MVR3,557.5 million (MVR3.6 billion) in the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, Maldives government has made a spending of MVR4,936.9 million (MVR4.9 billion) on salaries, wages and pensions of public sector employees.

On the other hand, state’s spending on administrative and operational expenses have hit MVR4,296.1 million (MVR4.3 billion).

As for capital expenses, state spent MVR139.5 million on capital equipment and another MVR2,213.2 million (MVR2.2 billion) on infrastructure assets.

Additionally, government has made a loan repayment of MVR600.7 million so far.
