Health authorities reveal another tourist arriving in Maldives tests positive for Covid-19 virus.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq, the spokesperson of Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) made confirmation of the development.

According to Dr. Rafeeq the tourist in question tested positive on Tuesday, 4 August 2020.

Moreover, HEOC spokesperson further notes the tourist is currently at OBLU Select at Sangeli.

Meanwhile health authorities tested the tourist’s family members for Covid-19 while HEOC confirms progression of contact tracing.

This marks the second such instance of a tourist testing positive for Covid-19 virus in Maldives since tourism resumption.

Authorities made confirmation of the first such case on 27 July 2020.
