The General Manager of State Electric Company (STELCO) Hussain Fahmy has been appointed as its new Managing Director.
Addu atoll Hithadhoo born Fahmy joined STELCO in 1998 as an Account Assistant Trainee.
He left for UK to pursue higher education afterwards, and then later rejoined the utility provider’s accounting department.
Fahmy, with a career spanning 25 years at STELCO, confirmed his appointment as the company’s new front man by the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB).
Ahmed Shareef, the previous MD, was appointed during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration.
