Switzerland’s Edelweiss Air has announced plans to increase its flight operations to the Maldives in response to growing demand for travel during the upcoming summer season.
The airline said it will introduce two additional weekly flights between July 4 and September 13, 2026, supplementing its existing scheduled services. The additional flights will operate every Wednesday and Saturday, enhancing air connectivity between Switzerland and the Maldives during the peak holiday period.
With the expansion, Edelweiss Air will operate a total of 21 additional flights to the Maldives over the summer, offering greater flexibility and convenience for travellers.
Edelweiss Air, the third-largest airline in Switzerland, has maintained a long-standing presence in the Maldivian market. The airline commenced operations to the Maldives on November 4, 2000, and has continued uninterrupted service for more than two decades.
In 2025, the airline marked a milestone, celebrating 25 years of operations to the Maldives.
