State Trading Organisation (STO) has launched a loyalty programme for customers who shop at its retail outlets across the Maldives.
The programme, called "My STO Loyalty," was announced at the company's Annual General Meeting on Friday night. It was developed following a proposal submitted by shareholders at last year's AGM.
How the Programme Works
The loyalty programme is divided into three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Customers earn points by shopping at designated STO outlets. The tier level rises based on the volume of spending.
Points can be redeemed for purchases or used to settle payments at participating outlets. Each card requires a minimum of 200 points before redemption becomes available. Points remain valid for two years.
The points multiplier varies by tier. Silver cardholders earn standard points with no multiplier. Gold cardholders earn points at a 1.5 multiplier, while Platinum cardholders earn points at double the base rate.
Where the Card Can Be Used
The loyalty card is currently accepted at four outlets: STO People's Choice in Male', STO People's Choice in Hulhumale', the STO Makita Showroom, and the STO Constructions Showroom in Hulhumale'.
Shareholders First, Public Next
At launch, the programme is open only to individual STO shareholders. They can claim their loyalty card through the STO Shareholder Portal. STO said the programme will be expanded to the general public in the future.
Shareholders who registered through the AGM have been automatically enrolled at the Platinum tier, the highest level.
STO is the Maldives' largest state-owned trading company. It operates a network of retail and wholesale outlets and plays a key role in supplying essential goods across the country's island communities.
