FSM Expands Nationwide Fuel Network with Kudahuvadhoo Station Launch

Fuel Supplies Maldives has opened a new fuel station in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, marking the seventh facility established under a nationwide initiative to improve fuel access across the Maldives.

The station commenced operations today as part of a joint effort by the government, STO and FSM to ensure the availability of fuel at affordable prices throughout the country.

The Kudahuvadhoo facility represents continued progress under a broader plan to establish fuel stations in 18 islands. With seven stations now operational, the project is expanding steadily to support regional supply networks.

The initiative began with the launch of the first station in R. Dhuvaafaru in December last year, followed by facilities in HA. Ihavandhoo, HDh. Hanimaadhoo, B. Eydhafushi and Sh. Milandhoo. Services were also introduced in F. Nilandhoo last week.

FSM currently operates three fuel sheds in Malé, along with additional facilities in outer islands to facilitate the distribution of petrol and diesel.

The expansion is expected to improve fuel accessibility in outer atolls, reducing reliance on transport from central locations and supporting local economic activity.

Reliable fuel supply is critical for sectors such as fisheries, transport and small businesses, particularly in islands located far from the capital.

The continued rollout of fuel infrastructure forms part of broader efforts to strengthen regional services and enhance economic resilience across the Maldives.
