Flynas is set to begin flight operations to the Maldives on the 3rd of next month, as authorities continue efforts to strengthen air connectivity.
The announcement was made by Minister of Tourism and Transport Mohamed Ameen during a press conference at the President’s Office.
The Minister stated that ongoing efforts to mitigate the economic impact of the Middle East conflict have contributed to a reduction in airline cancellations.
He added that attracting additional carriers remains a priority, with flynas expected to deliver economic benefits through increased connectivity.
The airline’s schedule already reflects the commencement of operations. flynas is Saudi Arabia’s largest low-cost carrier, operating more than 67 aircraft, primarily Airbus A320neo models.
Its main hub is located in Riyadh, with additional bases in Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah and Abha.
The entry of a low-cost carrier is expected to improve accessibility for travellers and diversify connectivity options to the Maldives.
The expansion of airline services is likely to support tourism inflows and reinforce the country’s position as a global travel destination.
