STO Medical Services host Conference to raise awareness

STO Medical Services recently held a “highly anticipated” conference aimed at raising awareness about chronic kidney diseases, and cardiac conditions.

This significant highlighted the recent approval by the US FDA of a medication imported and distributed by STO from AstraZeneca.

This medication, STO added, is designed to improve glycemic control in children aged 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes, making a crucial milestone for patients living with diabetes.

The conference underscored the importance of managing type 2 diabetes and introduced the latest globally approved medications for treating cardio, renal, and metabolic diseases related to diabetes.

Over 100 healthcare professionals from the Maldives attended the event, which featured presentations from several esteemed doctors including; Dr. Mohamed Shiruhan, Dr. Ibrahim Shiham, and Dr. Shaneez Najmy.

These distinguished speakers shared their extensive knowledge and expertise in treating chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and cardiac conditions, including heart failure.

Additionally, Dr. Sanjay Katra, Chairperson and the Education Working Group of ISE, addressed the attendees, offering his insights on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes management.
