Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has introduced changes to traffic flow at Velana International Airport, aiming to enhance accessibility and convenience for passengers using Terminal 2.
The new arrangement, which came into effect at 10:00 AM today, designates the area directly in front of Terminal 2 as a dedicated zone for passenger drop-offs and pick-ups. The move is part of ongoing efforts to improve passenger experience and streamline ground transport operations at the airport.
Under the revised system, the stretch between the Terminal 2 Arrivals area and the nearby roundabout has been allocated for passenger drop-offs, with marked spaces accommodating up to four taxis at a time. Meanwhile, the area between the Terminal 2 Departures section and the roundabout has been designated for passenger pick-ups, with space for up to five taxis.

MACL stated that staff have been deployed within the area to assist passengers and manage vehicle movement, ensuring a smooth transition to the new traffic flow system.
The changes are expected to reduce congestion and provide a more organised and efficient experience for travellers passing through Terminal 2.
