Maldivian Artist Raya Mansoor Named in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026

Maldivian artist and entrepreneur Raya Mansoor has been named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 list under The Arts category, adding another chapter to the Maldives' growing presence on one of Asia's most prestigious young achiever rankings.

Raya co-founded Oevaali Art Shop alongside her sister Raniya Mansoor in 2015. The brand describes itself as a premier, locally loved lifestyle brand that offers 100 percent Maldivian art and design, with worldwide shipping. From its Maldives base, the shop has grown into an internationally recognized brand. In January 2024, Oevaali Art Shop opened its doors at Arab Street in Singapore, entering the city-state's creative hub district.

Raya is an Economics graduate and a self-taught artist. Her work blends abstract, expressionist, and contemporary styles, creating a distinct visual language. Her early work explored ocean life. As her artistic journey evolved, she shifted toward more expressive and bold uses of color, creating pieces that evoke energy, movement, and emotion.

Institutions have featured her work. Her paintings are on display at the TMA VIP Lounge at Velana International Airport in the Maldives.

The 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list is the 11th edition of the annual ranking, which spotlights young innovators and creative leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region. Forbes Asia editorial director Rana Wehbe Watson said the list illustrates Gen-Z's influence across business and culture in the region.

The list covers 10 categories, including The Arts, AI, Entertainment and Sports, Finance and Venture Capital, and Social Impact, among others. Each category features 30 honorees drawn from across the region.

Oevaali Art Shop now operates in both Malé and Singapore. The brand has developed a range of products including original paintings, home fragrance collections, printed textiles, and lifestyle goods, all featuring Maldivian-inspired art and design.

Raya's recognition comes at a time when conversations around the Maldives' creative economy and cultural exports are gaining momentum. Local artists, designers, and creative entrepreneurs have been calling for greater institutional support and international visibility.

Reactions from the Maldivian arts community had not been formally compiled by the time of publication. MBR will update this report as cultural institutions and government bodies respond.
