State collects MVR1.33bn in revenue for March 2021

Maldives state revenue collection exclusively for the month of March 2021 stood at MVR1.33 billion.

Moreover, the total collection comes adjusted with the inclusion of 63.73 million in US Dollars.

According to Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), the revenue collection was a 19.2% improvement from the corresponding month of 2020.

On the other hand, the collection is a 28.4% increment from initial projections for the review month.

Furthemore, MIRA notes the increment for review month is subject to increase in Tourism Land Rent and TGST.

Earlier, Tourism Land Rent saw deferment to mid-2021 by the Ministry of Tourism, which was the resultant increment for the review month.

Meanwhile, total collection held MVR863.6 million in tax revenues and the remaining MVR464.0 million in non-tax revenues.
